In the world of construction, buildings have the capacity to make a major contribution to a more sustainable future for our planet. Buildings in developed countries account for more than forty percent of energy consumption over their lifetime (incorporating raw material production, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning).

bim2017Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka BIM Symposium 2017 was held on 10th July 2017 at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo 7. The event records the first BIM symposium to be held in Sri Lanka.

The event commenced with the president of IQSSL welcoming the gathering. Ch.QS Suranga Jayasena, senior lecturer and BIM researcher from University of Moratuwa, made presentation explaining what BIM is from technology and practice point of view. A speech followed with the title Innovations and Quantity Surveying by Ch.QS Upul Shantha, Managing Director, Cost Management Services (Pvt) Limited enlightened the gathering on new directions for professionals on the face of modern innovations.

WEBS DSC 5957The IQSSL held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for year 2015 on 2nd October 2015 at the Hilton Colombo Residences with the participation of a large number of Corporate Members. AGM proceedings commenced with the President, Ch. QS. Mr. Nishantha Wickramasinghe calling the AGM in to order.  Secretary, Ch. QS. Mr. Indunil Senevirathna read the Notice of AGM.

2apc2016Following members are elevated to the Associate Membership and obtained the "Chartered Quantity Surveyor" status of IQSSL at the APC held in 2016. While welcoming them to the corporate membership we congratulate them on their success.

Members of all seven Boards of IQSSL appointed for year 2014/15 gathered on 30th January 2015, for a policy discussion. Members of Boards met at the Organization for Professional Associations (OPA) premises to deliberate on current status and to plan their future endeavours.
