OPPORTUNITIES FOR QUANTITY SURVEYORS IN SAUDI ARABIA

All areas of the Sri Lankan economy are currently being severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing economic crisis. As a result, Sri Lanka's construction industry, which is a significant economic player, is also experiencing a recession. Thus, many professionals in the construction business had to leave their respective firms due to employment cuts. Since there are currently fewer employment openings in the sector, filling the positions has grown extremely competitive.

In response to the circumstances, the Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka (IQSSL) has determined the necessity of supporting all quantity surveying professionals in Sri Lanka during this crucial time period. As the sole representative body of the Sri Lankan Quantity Surveying Fraternity, IQSSL has officially written to several government organizations as well as to several foreign agencies such as the Sri Lankan missions of the World Bank, USAID, ADB, JICA, KOICA, etc., informing them of the current situation and seeking their support to overcome the tragic situation experienced by Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors. At present, we are receiving some positive responses for them.
