A number of novel changes and enhancements were added through the IQSSL during this particular term while battling the imposed lockdowns, pandemic, and other national issues.
IQSSL progressed further by integrating efficient mechanisms, a technology-oriented modern operational framework, and multiple other services under the purview of Ch. QS Upul Shantha.
Ch. QS Hemantha Aponso served as the fifth President of IQSSL.
Professor Chitra Suranganee Weddikkara is apast President of the IQSSL who holds a record of the longest-serving President. Affably known as Chitra amongst her peer contemporaries, Professor Chitra Weddikkara has been an internationally renowned personality in the construction sector.
Ch. QS Hettiarachchige Don Chandrasena, usually named as H.D.Chandrasena, is the 3rd in line as the President of the IQSSL and is the senior most Quantity Surveyor in Sri Lanka at the moment. He was the Deputy General Manager (Consultancy Services) of the State Engineering Corporation (S.E.C.) of Sri Lanka and was also the Chief Quantity Surveyor of the S.E.C. for nearly 18 years.
Ch. QS Tony Preena Miskin is a founding member, the first Honourary Secretary and the second President of the IQSSL. The inaugural meeting of the IQSSL has been recorded on 4th July 1983 at Mr. Miskin’s office in Colombo. He is also responsible for drafting the constitution of the IQSSL.
Professor Caldera was instrumental in design and organisation of the landmark National Certificate of Technology course in Quantity Surveying, the result of which is some thousands have primarily started their career as Quantity Surveyors, thus filling a considerable technical vacuum in the construction industry..
